The Ekuona Abusua has officially announced the
removal of Victor Kofi Owusu, popularly known as Kofi Owusu, from his role as
the head of the family (Abusupanyin).
The decision was made by the elders and family
members and was publicly announced on March 11, 2026. A statement released by
the family indicated that the change takes immediate effect.
In the announcement, the elders explained that
although he has been relieved of his leadership position, he will still remain
a member of the family.
The statement read:
"Effective immediately, Victor
Kofi Owusu, popularly known as Kofi Owusu, has been relinquished of his duties
as the Head of the Family (Abusupanyin) of the Ekuona Abusua.
This decision was made today by
the family and elders.
Henceforth, he remains a regular
member but no longer holds the position of Abusupanyin.”
The announcement, which was signed and sealed by the elders of the family, confirmed that the decision had been formally agreed upon and communicated to the public.
Although the statement did not provide detailed
reasons for the decision, it emphasized that the move was taken collectively by
the family and its elders.
The development has since drawn attention within
the community, with many people discussing the leadership change within the
Ekuona Abusua.
